The Rivers State Ethnic Youth Leaders Coalition (RSEYLC) has called on the Nigeria Police and other security agencies to ensure a thorough and professional investigation into the explosion that occurred near Presidential Hotel, Port Harcourt last Tuesday.

The coalition also demanded that Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martins Amaewhule and others who participated in the peaceful protest where the incident occurred should be invited by the police to know the role they played in the blast.

RSEYLC in a statement made available to LEADERSHIP Sunday in Port Harcourt yesterday urged potential investors to disregard the disruptive actions of detractors and recognise that Rivers State remains a safe and thriving business environment in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The statement said: “As youth leaders representing the diverse ethnic groups in Rivers State, we feel compelled to address the attempted detonation of an improvised explosive device (IED) near Hotel Presidential in Port Harcourt.
