Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Adewole Adebayo has promised that his government will give priority to women if elected president.
According to Adebayo, adequate representation of women in government would save the country from its many troubles.
Adebayo made the pledge while speaking at a three-day conference with presidential candidates, organised by the Nigerian Women 4 Good Governance weekend in Abuja.
At the conference, with the theme, “Good Governance for Better Nigeria”, Adebayo said Nigeria’s problems would be solved if families and women were empowered.
He said that adequate representation of women in government would not only make it work but also save Nigeria from many troubles.
“A government should be like a housewife. If you want to have a government that will work in Nigeria, you have to fashion the government like a housewife. The government will wake up and think of how people will eat and go to school,” he said.
