The Trans Atlantic Resort in Okene will celebrate its 8th anniversary on January 1 with its annual “Annual Family Funfair and Friends Connect Day.”
This highly anticipated event, hosted by the Trans Atlantic Centre (TAC), a research, recreation, and community development initiative, brings together over 200 natives and friends of Okene each year for a vibrant New Year’s celebration.
This year’s festivities will feature a range of activities, including traditional and modern dances, games, competitions, and entertainment. The event aims to strengthen community ties and preserve cultural heritage while fostering a fun and inclusive atmosphere.
Mohammed Bougei Attah, the national coordinator of TAC, highlighted that the centre is well-known for its diverse facilities and programmes, from its capacity-building gazebo and children’s amusement park to an expansive open event garden. In addition to the New Year’s celebration, TAC hosts several notable events, including the Ebira Gentlemen Club’s “Old School Picnic,” the Ebira Carnival Festival Picnic, and the Annual De-Friends Family Reunion.
A culinary experience awaits attendees, with traditional herbal teas, apapa, and suya as must-try delicacies. Attah also announced a series of exciting additions for the 2024 and 2025 editions, including new rewards, recognitions, and eco-friendly upgrades such as improved greenery and an animal colony.
With more enhancements planned, the Trans Atlantic Resort continues to be a hub for community engagement, cultural celebration, and family fun.
