United States President Donald Trump on Saturday attended the homecoming ceremony for the first six American soldiers killed in the ongoing conflict with Iran, according to a report by Agence France-Presse.

The troops were killed last Sunday when a drone struck a US command centre in Kuwait. The attack occurred one day after the United States and Israel launched military operations that triggered the current war with Iran.

AFP reported that the ceremony marked the return of the fallen soldiers to the United States, where military personnel and officials gathered to honour them.

The drone strike in Kuwait represents one of the earliest deadly attacks on US forces since the conflict began, highlighting the rapidly escalating tensions across the region.

The war, which erupted following coordinated military action by the United States and Israel, has since expanded beyond Iran’s borders, raising concerns about broader instability in the Middle East.

Security analysts say the attack on the US command facility underscores the vulnerability of American military assets in the region as hostilities intensify.

The United States government has not released full details about the identities of the soldiers or the specific unit targeted in the strike, but officials have described the incident as a significant escalation in the conflict.
