UBEC To Collaborate With Katsina Gov’t On Basic Education Quality

The Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Aisha Garba, has assured that the commission’s willingness to partner with the Katsina State Government in improving the quality of basic education in the state.

Garba stated this during a courtesy visit by the governor of Katsina State, Mallam Dikko Umar Radda, to the UBEC headquarters in Abuja.

During the visit, their discussions centred around exploring opportunities for partnership and collaboration to enhance basic education and reduce the number of Out-of-School children in Katsina State.

They also discussed strategies to ensure timely and adequate funding for basic education projects in Katsina State, which include leveraging federal grants and other financial resources to support educational initiatives.

 

Both parties emphasised the need for improved educational infrastructure, such as building new schools, renovating existing ones, and providing essential learning materials and facilities.

 

They further highlighted the importance of continuous professional development for teachers, which includes training programmes to enhance teaching skills and methodologies, ensuring that educators were well-equipped to deliver quality education.

 

During the visit, both parties expressed a strong commitment to working together to improve the quality of basic education in Katsina State.
