UK Based Arewa Professionals Applaud Choice Of Bamidele Opeyemi As Majority Leader

The Arewa Professionals in the United Kingdom  has applauded the choice of Senator Opeyemi Bamidele as the  Majority Leader of the10th Senate.

In a statement issued in Manchester yesterday at the end of an executive meeting, the president, Mr. Yunana Shibkau, described Opeyemi  as the right man for the job with a proven track record. 

Shibkau said he had no doubt that Bamidele  would succeed given his  academic qualifications and cumulated experience in governance and law making experience of decades.

He  enjoined the majority leader to see his new office as a call to higher national duty and wished him success in the new role.

Shibkau, who served as vice chairman North West  of Alliance For Democracy (AD) political  between 1999 and 2000, and later became the financial secretary of the party, stated that Opeyemi over the years demonstrated an unwavering dedication to public service throughout his  career of over two decades, earning him this prestigious opportunity to be elected the majority leader of  the senate.

“This momentous achievement highlights his exceptional leadership qualities and the trust bestowed upon him by the fellow senators and by extension the Nigerian people,” he said.

Shibkau who also served as a special adviser to former governor Sani Yerima of Zamfara State between 2005 and 2007 said the Arewa professionals in United Kingdom being a think-thank focused in gathering data, presentation of seminars was ready to collaborate with the National Assembly in any capacity building, exchange programme between United Kingdom’s political institutions and the National Assembly  that would promote and strengthen good governance and reliable law making process.
