The Ukrainian Ambassador to Nigeria, Ivan Kholostenko, has called on Nigeria and Nigerians to return to studying in Ukraine.

Kholostenko made this known at Abuja’s just-concluded art and tech festival, CAVIC Creativity & Technology Festival.

Kholostenko, represented by the Third Secretary, Daniil Shevchuk, said Ukraine’s foreign policy is pro-Africa.

It considers Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation, important and is working hard to reinduct foreign students in Ukraine, which suffered a decline owing to its ongoing war with Russia.

“Before the war, Ukraine was host to over 9000 foreign students. Unfortunately, the war, which Russia launched against our state, endangered not only the lives of Ukrainians but also the lives of Nigerians.”

Ukraine is returning to normalcy despite the war, mainly by letting the world know that not all areas of the country are affected.

“We are most excited to share an invitation to you to study in Ukraine again. Although part of our country is immersed in a war, the other part is safe, and we are coming up with solutions to provide foreign students options to study.”
