Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, chief medical director, Prof. Yusuf Bara Jibrin, has received two prestigious national awards at the 2025 Nigeria GovTech Public Service Awards.
A statement issued yesterday by ATBUTH’s head of Public Relations and Protocol Unit, Mr Usman Abdullahi Koli, said the honours were presented to him during a grand ceremony at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja.
ATBUTH Bauchi was recognised as the Best Federal Health Institution in the innovative use of technology, acknowledging its outstanding achievements in digital transformation, improved healthcare delivery and institutional modernisation.
While its chief medical director, Prof. Yusuf Bara Jibrin, received the Distinguished GovTech Trailblazer’s Award for his visionary leadership and dedication to advancing digital governance and innovation in Nigeria’s health sector.
The event organised by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) under the Presidency brought together top government officials, policymakers, innovators and public servants from across the country.
Jibrin dedicated the awards to the management team, staff and students of ATBUTH Bauchi, describing them as the driving force behind the hospital’s progress and achievements.
He reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining excellence in healthcare delivery, medical education, research, and digital innovation in line with the federal government’s digital transformation agenda.
Members of his family and the director of Administration, Muhammad Jibrin Gamawa, accompanied the CMD to the Presidential Villa to receive the awards.
