The youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers Southeast senatorial district, Hon Innocent Ajaelu, has said the majority of lawmakers from the state are joining the ruling party because of the good works of President Bola Tinubu.

Recently, majority of members of the National Assembly and the Rivers State House of Assembly dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP), for the APC, citing unresolved leadership crisis within the political parties for their defection.

Prominent among them are Senator Allwell Onyesoh of Rivers East senatorial district and Senator Barinada Mpigi of Rivers East senatorial district.

But, speaking with LEADERSHIP Sunday in Port Harcourt, Ajaelu stated that the lawmakers must have seen that the APC remains the only vehicle that could take them to their politically desired destination.

“Let me say that people joining the APC have seen prospects and good works of the president, Senator Bola Tinubu. It is often said that it is only the tree that bears good fruits that people throw stones at.

“My people always say that you will not leave where they are crowning kings to go to where they worship idols.

“So, as a politician, a progressive one for that matter, they have seen from where they are sitting and from where they are coming, that the vehicle that took them to wherever they are has stopped and the next vehicle that will take them to their desired destination is the APC.

“The pilot of this flight is doing very well and he has been having so many safe landings. So, they are joining the flight because it will take them to their desired destination,” he said.
