Former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has been appointed as Technical Adviser to the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

The appointment came barely two days before the scheduled date for 2023 electioneering campaigns by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Secondus, who disclosed this on his verified Facebook page, said with the appointment, Atiku’s mission to rescue Nigeria will come to fulfillment.

He wrote: “I have just received the news of my appointment as Technical Adviser to H.E Atiku Abubakar in his 2023 Presidential Campaign.

“The mission to Rescue Nigeria that I initiated in 2018 will come to a fulfillment by the Special Grace of Almighty God.”

Recall that Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has been at loggerheads with the Atiku as well as the national leadership of the party over the continued stay of Senator Iyorchia Ayu as national chairman of the party.

Wike has already pulled out of the recently constituted PDP Presidential Campaign Council, along with other prominent members of the party from different parts of the country.

However, Secondus and other prominent members of the party in Rivers State, including two serving Senators, George Thompson Sekibo and Betty Apiafi as well as a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Farah Dagogo, chose to be in Atiku’s camp.

Also in the presidential candidate’s camp are former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Austin Opara, Senator Lee Maeba, former Governor Celestine Omehia and several others.
