The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has declared that the government and people of the state will give maximum support to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
Aiyedatiwa appreciated President Tinubu for enabling states to pursue developmental projects through increased fiscal capacity. The president’s economic reforms have led to increased revenue coming to the states, making it easier to embark on more developmental projects for the people.
The governor stated this in Akure, the state capital, when he received the state, local government, and ward coordinators of a political group, The Lucky Guy, on a courtesy visit.
He added that states no longer borrow to finance projects or pay salaries. Governor Aiyedatiwa hinted that Ondo State has witnessed unprecedented federal presence and support under the president’s Renewed Hope administration, including infrastructural projects and appointments.
He said, “We are happy with the increase in federal presence here in Ondo State since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assumed office. The federal government’s support for our state in the last two years has been unprecedented.
“We have the dualisation of Ore-Ondo-Akure road, establishment of Federal University of Technology Teaching Hospital, construction of Lagos/Calabar Coastal Highway passing through Ondo State, giving us an Aviation institution and several political appointments for sons and daughters of Ondo State.
“With these and many more, we have no reason as a state not to give our utmost support to the re-election of Mr. President in 2027. You will recall that Ondo was among the states that gave him the highest vote percentage in 2023, with 69 per cent of the total votes.
This time around, in 2027, we are ready to do much more than that,” the Governor said.
Earlier, the Convener of “The Lucky Guy,” Hon. MoyinOlorun Ogunwumiju, noted that TLG was formed to promote Governor Aiyedatiwa’s political leadership and ideals.
He said, “We are ready to be your foot soldiers in all 18 local governments. We are itching for more responsibility and are ready to work on the upcoming Asiwaju Datiwa 2027 project.”
