Atikulated Media, a support group for Atiku Abubakar, has cautioned DSP Barau I Jibrin to be cautious of allegations that he is implementing a contract to destroy presidential candidates from the North. This warning was contained in a statement signed by Comrade Umar Gajo, chairman of Atikulated Media.

According to Umar Gajo, recent news and pictures circulating in the media claiming that some supporters of Atiku Abubakar had defected to APC were nothing but drama. He stated that the faces at the gathering were unfamiliar and not genuine supporters of Atiku Abubakar.

He said there are strong allegations that DSP Barau I Jibrin is being used to stop supporters of other presidential candidates from the North, ensuring that any candidate seeking the presidency in 2027 is defeated. Umar Gajo believes that this action could lead to a political challenge for DSP Barau I Jibrin from supporters of presidential candidates from the North.

Atikulated Media emphasised that genuine supporters of Atiku Abubakar differ from other political groups, which they refer to as “Awanki Gara” (those who were paid to switch sides). They rejected the idea of paying people to defect, stating that it goes against democratic principles.

Umar Gajo recalled how DSP Jibrin had previously claimed to have received hundreds of supporters of Rabiu Kwankwaso, only for them to return to their original affiliations. He said this earned DSP Barau I Jibrin the nickname “Awanki Gara.”
