“It’s a wrap! 30 days of filming, 26 episodes done. Thanks to an amazing cast and crew. Kariya, a brand  new Hausa language, thriller series will be on your screens soon!”

Translated as Sanctuary, Kariya is the story of a couple, Tariq and Hadiza Al-Hassan whose blissful life as relationship counsellors are far from the reality. The couple is on the verge of divorce as Tariq’s infidelity with longtime mistress, Zara, threatens to become a public scandal. Matters however worsened, when the couple are held hostage by a group of armed men on the run from the police invade their home.

What follows is a battle of wits and wills as they all struggle to survive until dawn against each other and their own personal demons.

Created and written by Garuba, Michael Echobu Garuba, Sally Williams Ngwobia and Brenda Chidimma Garuba, Kariya is directed by Reuben Reng, with Take 7 Media founder and director, Bem Pever as executive producer.
