A nomad, simply identified as Ali, has been arrested by men of Kwara State Police Command for allegedly killing a farmer, simply identified as Mallam Ahmadu in Labaka- Oja, Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.

The incident happened last Sunday, according to sources.

The spokesperson of the state police command, Ejire Adeyemi, confirmed the arrest of the suspect on Tuesday.

She said the suspect has confessed to the crime and will be prosecuted accordingly.

LEADERSHIP gathered that there was a disagreement between the suspect and the deceased over some harvested tubers of yams.

A source told LEADERSHIP that the deceased was called on phone on Sunday and went into the bush but never returned.

“When we continued the search the next day (Monday), we met his corpse at the same spot where we recovered his motorbike a day earlier badly macheted,” the source added.

The traditional ruler of Labaka- Oja , Oba Kazeem Irewolede, confirmed the incident.
