In a move aimed at fostering increased connectivity and economic collaboration, the Federal Government of Nigeria has successfully inked a Bilateral Air Service (BASA) agreement with the State of Kuwait.

The signing ceremony, which took place during the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) meeting in Riyadh, was presided over by Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development.

Keyamo hailed the agreement as a testament to Nigeria’s commitment to international cooperation in the aviation sector and highlighted its significance in bolstering relations between the two nations.

Describing the accord as a landmark moment in the diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Kuwait, the minister emphasised the potential it holds in elevating connectivity and enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries.

Tunde Moshood, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Minister, conveyed Keyamo’s optimism about the prospects of the newly signed agreement in a statement.

He emphasised its potential to stimulate trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges, ultimately facilitating economic growth for both nations.

Keyamo stressed the government’s unwavering commitment to advancing Nigeria’s global aviation presence and fostering opportunities for economic advancement.

The bilateral air service agreement stands as a testament to Nigeria’s active engagement with international partners to propel its aviation and aerospace capabilities to new heights.

The minister underscored the government’s dedication to building robust relationships with nations worldwide, noting that this agreement with Kuwait reflects Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to expanding its global aviation footprint and solidifying its position in the international aviation landscape.
