UNIUYO Lifts 153 Professors, Promotes Over 700 Others In 2023

The management of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) at the weekend took stock of activities in the outgoing year, declaring achievements in various fields including academic and non-academic departments of the institute

Towards boosting the morale of staff, the vice chancellor, Prof Nyaudoh Ndaeyo, LEADERSHIP SUNDAY gathered, has elevated no fewer than “153 academic staff to the rank of Professors within the 2023 appraisal year.”

The latest batch, according to the Registrar and Senate’s Secretary, Mrs Blossom Okorie, as announced by the VC at the 129th meeting of Senate of the University held on December 20, 2023, stood at 23.

Giving the breakdown of the promotion to the professorial ranks during the year, Okorie explained that “67 were promoted Professors, while 86 were promoted to the rank of Associate Professors .

by the Vice-Chancellor during the 124th and 129th meetings of the Senate of the University held within the year.”
