The affiliate unions of Nigeria labour Congress (NLC), Niger State Council have passed a vote of confidence on the state chairman of NLC, Comrade Idris Abdulkareem Lafene, for enduring among others defrayment of third party deductions by the state government.

This was contained in the resolutions reached during the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting of NLC held yesterday at Labour House, Minna.

Also noted by the SEC were the defrayment of arrears of third-party deductions, sustained payment of salaries to all categories of workers and pensioners at the state and local government areas and commencement of defrayment of owed salary arrears for local government areas from 210 percent to less than 50 percent.

The SEC-in-session also approved the partnership between the NLC and State Ministry of Agriculture to key into the agriculture drive of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago.
To this end, the ministry has consented to the idea of the state NLC to establish a labour farm for which a memo is being developed for onward presentation to the government.
