To mark his one year in office, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State, arrangements have been concluded to commission 200 CNG buses and state-of-the art vehicles purchased by the state government.
This was disclosed yesterday by the commissioner for information and strategy, Hon. Binta Mamman, during a press briefing at the Government House, Minna, the state capital.
Mamman said a new era of progress and prosperity is underway in the state, stressing that the farmer governor has sparked a transformation like never before.
She said the low-key celebration of the anniversary will include the commissioning of 200 CNG buses, administering of vaccines against Human Papillomavirus (HPV) to young female students, commissioning of the state-of-the art vehicles at the Trade Fair Complex as well as novelty football match between the state executive and the legislative arms of government.
The commissioner said the state had experienced the reconstruction and expansion of crucial roadways like the six-lane Chanchaga Expressway and Minna Township roads, Minna-Kateregi-Bida Road, championing mechanised farming, and purchasing of 1,000 high-tech tractors worth billions of naira.
The remarkable upgrades and innovations which showcases the governor’s commitment and dedication to excellence include infrastructural development, education, health, Green Economy Initiative, transformation and renaming of the Minna Airport to Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, she said.
