The COAS also said the Army will continue to pursue both kinetic and non-kinetic lines of operations in collaboration with other security agencies and well-meaning citizens to improve the security situation in the country.

Lagbaja, who spoke during the commissioning of renovated LA Nursery and Primary School, in Lagos yesterday, noted that the Nigerian Army recognises that the nation‘s security and progress depends on the synergy and cooperation of all stakeholders towards nation building, hence the necessity to continue to conduct non-kinetic operations.

Lagbaja, who was represented by Major General Muhammed Takuti Usman , General Officer Commanding 81 Division, made these known during the commissioning ceremony of renovated LA Nursery and Primary School, two-storey classrooms, toilet facilities, installation of borehole, remodelling of food stand and creche, under the Chief of Army Staff Special intervention Civil-Military Cooperation projects, funded by the Chief of Army Staff, LT General Taoreed Lagbaja, and executed by Major General AC Adetoba.

COAS explained that the Special Intervention Civil-Military project represents a major achievement in the Nigerian Army‘s efforts to enhance the security and well-being of the people. It is designed to be executed by senior Nigerian Army officers who, through hard work and dedication to service, have risen to the enviable rank of Major General. He said the project is being extended to communities to encourage their support and trust in the Nigerian Army.

He added that the projects were carefully conceptualised to elicit substantial interest from the people who are expected to take ownership of its management.

For his part, Major General AC Adetoba said the commissioning is a way of giving back to society and stressed that education is and will continue to remain the main key to better life and prosperity in the future.

The headmistress, Mrs Olajumoke Oyinloye, expressing joy, said they almost despair though remain optimistic when the school becomes unconducive to learning due to its gradual dilapidation and the perennial floods experienced whenever it rains until help comes from the Nigerian Army.
