The Bauchi State deputy governor, Mohammed Auwal Jatau has reaffirmed the commitment of the state government towards ensuring that every citizen of the state has access to quality healthcare. He also announced that the remaining balance of state counterpart funds for 2024 has been released into the PHC MoU Basket Fund Account.

Speaking at the quarterly meeting of the State Task Force on Primary Healthcare (PHC) held at the conference hall of his office yesterday, Jatau said the meeting serves as a vital platform to reflect on the Task Force’s progress and to find solutions to challenges identified.

He appreciated development partners and donors for their outstanding support which has been instrumental in enhancing healthcare delivery in Bauchi State, saying their technical assistance and financial support have made a significant impact on the lives of the people of the state.

Auwal Jatau noted that the major role of the Task Force is to ensure accountability and high-level oversight on Primary Health Care Service delivery in the state through partnership with development partners and donors.

He added that, “The disbursement of MoU funds has not only allowed us to implement ongoing projects, but also enables us to respond swiftly to emerging health needs. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that these funds are utilized effectively and transparently, maximizing the benefits for our citizens.”
