While many Nigerian youths in their 30s are already raising their children and meeting other life’s obligations, David Itodo in his 30s has been sitting in one spot for the past five years due to spinal cord injury.

A source who pleaded anonymity told LEADERSHIP that Itodo’s ordeal started in September 2020 when he had accident in Abia State while carrying out his assignment as a soldier of the Nigerian Army.

“Itodo needs to do Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), he needs a wheelchair, he also needs financial assistance for him to get better.”

According to the source, Itodo’s salary cannot afford to buy his medication, adding he really needed help to live. “He believes with the support of well-meaning Nigerians, government, stakeholders, hospitals and non-governmental organisations, he can still live the life of his dream.”

His body is fixated as his nerves and other sensory organs are no longer responding to stimulus the way they should.
