President Bola Tinubu’s aide on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has declared to the Borno South senator, Ali Ndume, that he does not nurse an ambition to replace him at the upper legislative chamber.

Bwala, in a statement shared via his official X handle, dismissed the speculations that he harbours senatorial ambitions, for Southern Borno, and denied the claims that he was being positioned to replace Ndume.

“Senator Ali Ndume, your frustration is aging you by the day. I am not planning to run for senate, and there is no plan to replace you with my humble self in Southern Borno,” he wrote.

Bwala also accused Ndume of failing to deliver meaningful representation to Southern Borno in his over two decades in the National Assembly, alleging that his performance has led to his rejection by the same people he represents.

“No wonder, Southern Borno excluded you from the list of honorees in the recent Excellence Award given to distinguished sons and daughters of Southern Borno,” Bwala stated.

The presidential aide further alleged that Ndume’s associates have issued death threats to critics and accused the senator of political double-dealing.

He further claimed that Senator Ndume “meets and hobnobs with the coalition for a wild goose chase at night, and pretends to be an APC member during the day.”

Reacting to an alleged insult directed at him by the senator during a Channels Television appearance, Bwala cautioned Senator Ndume to maintain decorum, reminding him of past private interactions between the two of them.

“Anytime my name is mentioned, you can’t help but insult me. But you would not tell the world how you drove to my office to thank me immensely for supporting you when Sen. (Bukola) Saraki suspended you and was dealing with you. How about when you wanted to be senate president—how you came to my law office and waited for two hours for me to come?” Bwala revealed.
He concluded by advising the senator to respect himself and others, saying, “Respect is reciprocal.”
