A 50-year-old resident of Kariya in Ganuwa local government area of Bauchi State, Umar Sule, has allegedly raped his 17-year-old daughter severally and impregnated her.
Mr Sule took advantage of his daughter while her mother traveled to Burra to see her parents.
A medical examination confirmed that the victim is 3-month-old pregnant for her father.
Confirming the incident to reporters on Friday, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Bauchi, CSP Ahmed Wakil, said both the suspect and the victim had been arrested for questioning.
He said both the father and his daughter pleaded guilty.
“On the return of her mother, she observed that the victim was pregnant and questioned her of who was responsible. The victim disclosed that it was her biological father,” he said.
Wakil said the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has directed that the case be charged to court after the investigation.
