Police Arrest 5 Suspected Drug Dealers In Bauchi

Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command have arrested five suspects for alleged drug trafficking at Unguwar Tudun Wadan Dan’iyaa area of Bauchi metropolis.

The suspects who were arrested on Sunday, April 27, 2025, include two females and three males identified as Adamu Muhammed, 35; Mrs. Okwudili Chikezic, 50; Sunday Anaco, 25; and Miss Maryam Ahmed, 20 years and all residents of Bayan Gari.

The other suspect is a 20-year-old Tijjani Adamu, a resident of Miri in Bauchi local government area of the state.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the arrests followed a strategic operation based on actionable intelligence.

Wakil said the operation was conducted by the Command Monitoring Unit, led by CSP Abdulrazak Pada.

He said during the operation, a comprehensive search of several local shops in the area led to arrest of the suspects and the recovery of various prohibited substances.

The recovered substances include 30 sachets of Tramadol tablets, 22 bottles of assorted ICE syrups, 3 Penta injections, 10 sachets of Diazepam tablets as well as 5 ICE bunkers.

The statement further revealed that the suspects confessed to their involvement in drug trafficking and expressed willingness to cooperate with the police to aid further investigations.

The PPRO confirmed that the suspects will be profiled and charged in court accordingly.

Commissioner of Police, Bauchi Command, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu praised the officers for their dedication and effectiveness during the operation.

He also ordered a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served.

The Command called on community members especially parents, guardians, and local leaders to educate young people on the dangers of drug abuse and criminal activities.

“By working together, we can preserve the peace in our communities and raise awareness about the serious health risks associated with illegal substances,” the statement emphasised.
