N-HYPPADEC Begins Evaluation Of Projects To Ascertain Impact On Beneficiaries

The National Hydro-electric Power Producing Development Areas Commission, N-HYPPADEC, has begun evaluating all the projects and programmes executed so far to ascertain their impacts on the people.
The head of the commission, media and public affairs, Nura Tanko Wakili, stated this during a post-programme and projects evaluation tour to some communities in Niger to ascertain the viability of all executed projects by the commission across the 17 local government areas of N-HYPPADEC communities in Niger State.

He reaffirmed that the efforts were part of the country’s commitment to the development of the benefiting communities.

Nura Wakili stated that the strategy was to mobilise communities on the essence of taking ownership and maintenance of projects in their domain for sustainability and encouragement for more projects.
Also speaking, acting director of planning, research, and statistics, Mr Pam Jedi expressed satisfaction with the response from the various communities based on the facilities provided to them by the commission.
For his part, the Niger State coordinator, Umar Musa Alhaji, stressed the importance of feedback from the benefiting communities to ascertain the challenges and proffer solutions.

In his response, the head of Shata, one of the villages, visited Abubakar Garba Kali. He appreciated the N-HYPPADEC efforts in providing potable water through a number of motorised boreholes and building classrooms with chairs, tables, and other teaching and learning materials in their communities in the Bosso local government area of the state.

Other communities visited include Shata, Magada, Shanu and Minna Police Secondary School in Bosso local council, as well as Angwan Daji, Limawa, and COE Minna in Chanchaga local government area.
