Group managing director of Plateau Express Services Limited, Mr. Samuel Gwott, has said Governor Caleb Mutfwang has procured 15 more metro buses to ease transportation in the greater Jos masterplan.
Gwott told LEADERSHIP Sunday in Jos on Friday that the challenge they had before was fewer buses, stressing that with the additional buses they would be moving between 18,000 and 20,000 commuters per day.

He said the Tin-city Metro bus service is a subsidiary of Plateau Express Service Group Limited.

“We started with 15 buses, the 15 brings a total of 30 metro buses in our fleet operating within the greater Jos masterplan,” he said.

He added that the buses were specially designed for movement in the city.
Gwott said they had been able to move about 9,000 commuters and sold over 58,000 metro cards. He said commuters can track the bus to know how close it is from their location, adding that the initiative had beautified the city and added to the tourism outlook in the state.

“The operation of the Tin City metro buses has led to huge cash savings for the people of Plateau. It is a tool for peace building and helps to boost business and create employment for our teeming youths. No planned city will survive on Keke NAPEP, a planned city survives on well-organised transportation system,” he said.
