As Nigeria marks Democracy Day, the Oduduwa Frontiers, a socio-political advocacy group, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it describes as significant progress in economic reforms, national security, and democratic consolidation since assuming office in 2023.

In a statement signed by the group’s national president, Kolawale Adediji Kazeem, and released to journalists yesterday, the organisation hailed the Tinubu administration’s commitment to driving infrastructural development, economic diversification, and inclusive governance.

“This day not only marks the significance of our democratic journey but also offers an opportunity to reflect on the transformative progress achieved in the past two years,” Kazeem said.

The group lauded President Tinubu’s “bold and ambitious” economic agenda, especially the diversification of the economy away from overdependence on oil. According to Kazeem, the administration’s support for agriculture, SMEs, and tech-driven enterprises has begun yielding results in job creation and economic resilience.

The statement also drew attention to massive infrastructure investments, particularly in the construction of roads, railways, and energy projects, which the group described as “a commitment to ensuring every Nigerian has access to the resources necessary for a dignified life.”

“The partnership between the public and private sectors has been instrumental in attracting foreign investment, showcasing Nigeria as an emerging market with vast potential,” Kazeem added.

On national security, the Oduduwa Frontiers noted that the Tinubu administration has adopted a multi-pronged strategy to combat insecurity involving both the military and grassroots communities. The group claims that the establishment of community policing initiatives and strategic partnerships has reduced crime rates and increased public confidence.

“Through strategic partnerships with local communities, the establishment of new security frameworks, and the reinforcement of our military capabilities, the government has made significant strides in combating insurgency, banditry, and other forms of violence,” the statement noted.

The group emphasised that President Tinubu’s approach to inclusivity, dialogue, and democratic institution-building has helped foster national unity and social stability. It highlighted ongoing judicial reforms as a key step toward reinforcing the rule of law and improving access to justice.

“Stability is the bedrock of any thriving democracy,” the group stated, crediting Tinubu for “promoting inclusivity, fostering dialogue, and strengthening democratic institutions.”

As the country reflects on June 12’s legacy, widely regarded as Nigeria’s symbol of democratic struggle, the Oduduwa Frontiers urged citizens to remain engaged and supportive of the administration’s efforts toward a better future.

“The journey towards a prosperous Nigeria is ongoing, and it is our collective responsibility to support the administration in its efforts to build a nation where every citizen can thrive,” Kazeem concluded.

The group ended its message on a hopeful note, calling on Nigerians to remain united in pursuing progress and democracy.

“Let us celebrate not only our democratic heritage but also the promise of a brighter future under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” the statement said.
