FG Commends Yobe Over Achievements In Basic Education

The Federal Ministry of Education, has commended Yobe State government for excelling in basic education delivery in the state.

This is contained in a special letter of commendation personally signed by the minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa and conveyed to Governor Mai Mala Buni, which was made available to LEADERSHIP in Damaturu.

According to the letter, “Your proactive approach is exemplary and reflects a sustained prioritization of foundational education as a catalyst for development geared towards improving educational outcome for the over 967,301 children of Basic Education age in Yobe State.”

The minister commended Yobe State government’s dedication to advancing education and commitment to ensuring that Yobe children acquire the knowledge and skills essential for their success.

“l note with deep appreciation that Yobe State has fully accessed its 2024 Universal Basic Education matching grant,” the minister wrote.

Governor Buni said the commendation would serve as a springboard to achieve higher targets in advancing education in the state.

He also commended stakeholders in education including teachers and parents for their support and commitment to government’s policy and programmes on education.

LEADERSHIP reports that, the minister’s commendation is coming at a time when three girls from the state, Nafisa Abdullah, Rukayya Muhammad Fema and Khadija Kashim, emerged World champions at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals in London, United Kingdom, with 20,000 participants from 69 countries.
