Information Technology and cloud security expert Samad Akanbi Toyin has been honoured with the Outstanding Award of Excellence in Technology Innovation of the Year at the 10th African Icon Awards, held at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja.

The African Icon Awards celebrates exceptional changemakers driving progress across the continent. Amb. Abraham Lawal, Project Director, commended Akanbi’s pioneering work, saying he “exemplifies the spirit of leadership and innovation that this award seeks to celebrate.”

Akanbi, who holds a Distinction in MSc Cloud and Network Security from the University of Bolton, UK, and a BSc in Computer Science from Kwara State University, Nigeria, has over six years of experience in secure infrastructure design, network optimisation, and enterprise IT service delivery.

Certified in cybersecurity by the International Information System Security Consortium (ISC)², as well as AWS, Microsoft, and Cisco, Akanbi is a member of several international engineering and computing bodies. He remains committed to bridging advanced technical solutions with real-world applications while mentoring the next generation of tech professionals.
