Mentees of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council’s (NEPC) Export Mentorship Programme (EMP) have applauded the council’s executive director/chief executive officer, Mrs. Nonye Ayeni, for her visionary leadership and consistent drive in boosting Nigeria’s non-oil exports.

They also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his economic reforms and the Minister of Trade and Investment for supporting policies that have sustained export growth.

According to the NEPC’s First Half-Year Progress Report presented in Abuja on Sunday, non-oil exports rose to $3.225 billion in the first half of 2025, a 19.59 per cent increase from $2.696 billion recorded in the same period last year.

Export volumes also grew to 4.04 million metric tonnes, up from 3.83 million metric tonnes in H1 2024, driven by strong demand from India, Brazil, Vietnam and several African countries.

Ayeni noted that Q1 2025 alone generated $1.791 billion in non-oil exports – a 24.75 per cent increase over Q1 2024 – while shipment volumes surged by 24.3 per cent to 2.416 million metric tonnes.

On behalf of the mentees, Baba Ransome Adamu, managing director of Za&Ra Global Systems Ltd, said the council’s leadership had inspired confidence among exporters.

“Her results inspire exporters to aim higher and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s non-oil export success story,” he stated.
