Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has reaffirmed her commitment to youth empowerment through education with the commissioning of 10 new Digital Learning Centres across the country under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).

The centres, inaugurated virtually from the State House in Abuja, are located in Abia, Delta, Edo, Kano, Katsina, Lagos, Nasarawa, Ondo, Yobe, and Zamfara States.

In a statement posted on X by the Presidency on Wednesday, Mrs Tinubu said the initiative was designed to equip young Nigerians with essential digital skills to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world.

“This initiative aims to equip young Nigerians with the tools and knowledge needed to thrive in a digital world,” she stated.

The First Lady emphasised that the project, implemented in partnership with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), goes beyond providing computers and internet facilities. According to her, it focuses on nurturing creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship among Nigerian youths.

“It’s not just about computers and internet access. It’s about nurturing creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship among Nigeria’s youth,” she said.

Senator Tinubu noted that the project aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s developmental agenda, complementing the Federal Government’s drive to build a knowledge-based economy.

“This project complements the Federal Government’s efforts to build a knowledge-based economy where every child, regardless of background or geography, has access to quality digital learning opportunities,” she explained.

The First Lady added that the initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to inclusive growth and human capital development, especially in underserved communities.

“Through the Renewed Hope Initiative, we are ensuring that no community is left behind in Nigeria’s digital transformation journey,” she affirmed.

She further stressed that the Renewed Hope Initiative’s Digital Learning Project reinforces the government’s dedication to bridging the gap between education and employability, while empowering students to participate fully in the digital age.

Recall that on October 10, 2025, Mrs Tinubu emphasised her husband’s resolve to create an enabling environment for Nigerian youths to harness their creativity and potential. At the time, she had also urged young people to embrace hard work, unity, compassion, and patience as they contribute to national development.
