A pro‑Tinubu support group, the South East Renewed Hope Agenda (SERHA), has flagged off a scholarship scheme that will pay the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registration fees for 10,000 indigent students in Imo State.

SERHA National Coordinator, Belusochukwu Enwere flagged off the scheme in Owerri, the Imo State capital on Thursday.

He disclosed that a total of 50,000 students will benefit from the scheme from the southeast zone.

Enwere said President Bola Tinubu wanted students to study without any challenges, saying upon admission, the students will access the NELFUND loan to pay school fees.

He disclosed that the 50,000‑scholarship package Enwere would be shared equally among Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo.

Enwere appealed to the beneficiaries to seize the opportunity, register for the examination, and come out in flying colours.

According to him, SERHA’s programme aligned with President Tinubu’s national education agenda, which includes student loans and school infrastructure upgrades.

He expressed hopes that the southeast region noted for their entrepreneurial spirit, will use the scholarships to nurture future leaders, engineers, doctors and innovators.

Enwere said “each scholarship covers the full cost of JAMB registration, giving 10,000 deserving students per state the chance to step confidently into university or polytechnic.

“President Tinubu, in his wisdom, has made education a cornerstone of the Renewed Hope Agenda. From the Student Loan Scheme to infrastructure revamps in our schools, his administration is weaving a tapestry of progress that includes every region, every tribe, every child.

“This scholarship is your launchpad. Seize it with both hands. Study with passion, dream with audacity, and remember that your success is Nigeria’s success”, Enwere said.

The event brought together young secondary school leavers, and SSS3 students who turned out in their numbers.

One of the beneficiaries, Akor Peters who was on clutches from Ahiazu Mbaise thanked the organisers for the gesture and pledged his commitment to study and pass the examination.
