Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has made it clear that personal accolades take a backseat to collective success, as the Nigerian forward insists his sole focus is steering Trabzonspor to victory in every remaining match of the Turkish Süper Lig season.

The 6-foot-7 hitman has been in scintillating form this campaign, featuring in 24 of the club’s 25 league fixtures. In 2,152 minutes of action, Onuachu has amassed a staggering 22 goals and two assists, establishing himself as the undisputed focal point of the Black Sea Storm’s attack.

“We are having a great season, both as a team and as a coaching staff. Being at the top of the goalscoring charts is very important to me. I feel very happy,” Onuachu admitted. However, he quickly added:

“Right now, without making too many comments, we need to continue winning our matches.”

With Trabzonspor currently trailing the league leaders by a four-point margin, Onuachu stressed that every fixture from here on is a final.

“There’s a 4-point difference, and we have matches ahead. Let’s win, and the rest will be clear,” he stated, signaling that the title destination will naturally resolve itself if his side keeps collecting three points.
