A political group in Ogun State, the Yayi Progressives Movement (YPM), has donated N1 billion and unveiled 27 campaign buses to back the governorship ambition of the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus candidate, Senator Solomon Adeola.
The group made the revelation during its official launch at Ake Palace Pavilion, Abeokuta, where the convener, Armstrong Akintunde, explained that the funds and buses would be used for campaign logistics and grassroots mobilisation.
Akintunde, who also inaugurated the state executive members led by Hon. Olusegun Kaka, expressed confidence in Ogun’s ability to deliver the highest votes in the Southwest for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election.
He said, “This is not about an individual, but about securing Ogun’s future. Senator Solomon Adeola Yayi embodies competence and continuity. We support him because we believe in the APC’s vision.”
Akintunde also dismissed opposition efforts as unlikely to stop Tinubu’s or the APC gubernatorial candidate’s success in the state.
He assured that Ogun would vote overwhelmingly for Tinubu in 2027, thanks to strong party collaboration.
The group leader further praised Governor Dapo Abiodun for his infrastructural achievements and called for unity to sustain progress.
Addressing the significance of the event, Akintunde highlighted Yayi Movement’s growth from earlier phases such as DACA and Omoluabi, emphasising unity and determination to secure electoral victories.
Earlier, Kaka described the inauguration as a testament to the group’s dedication to progress and urged members to stay focused on their goals for the state’s development.
