Raphael Onyedika appears to be heading for the exit door at Club Brugge this summer, following his decision to turn down a contract extension.
The Nigerian midfielder’s rejection of a new deal has signaled his intent to move on, with the Belgian champions now bracing for his departure.
The 25-year-old currently has just one year remaining on his existing contract with the Blauw-Zwart. While Club Brugge have made efforts to secure his long-term future, Onyedika is reportedly eager to embrace a fresh challenge elsewhere, according to Belgian outlet Voetbal24.
Interest in the defensive midfielder has been building for some time. During the January transfer window, Turkish Süper Lig giants Galatasaray were strongly linked with a move for the former Midtjylland man.
Meanwhile, several Premier League clubs are said to be keeping tabs on his situation, with Aston Villa, West Ham United, and Everton all mentioned as potential suitors.
Club Brugge are understood to be open to negotiations, with a fee in the region of €20 million believed to be enough to secure Onyedika’s signature.
The club originally signed him from Danish side FC Midtjylland in 2022, and he has since developed into a key figure in their midfield.
With his contract running down, the coming months are likely to see a transfer battle unfold for the highly rated Nigeria international.
