The Margi Community in Abuja has expressed deep concern over the persistent insecurity ravaging the North-East region, urging the Federal Government and security agencies to intensify efforts toward safeguarding lives and property.

In a statement issued to journalists yesterday in Abuja, by the Community’s Coordinator, the group expressed grief over recent attacks and abductions in parts of Borno and Adamawa States, stressing that citizens can no longer live in fear.

“We are deeply pained by the continued attacks on our communities, the abduction of schoolchildren, and the destruction of livelihoods,” the statement read. “Our people deserve to live in peace and dignity without the constant threat of violence.”

The community urged government at all levels to deploy more security personnel, strengthen intelligence gathering, and ensure the safe rescue of those still in captivity.

It also appealed to citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with security operatives by providing useful information that could help curb the menace.

While acknowledging the sacrifices of security personnel, the Margi people called for better welfare and equipment to enable them to perform their duties effectively.

The community reaffirmed its commitment to peace and unity, urging all Nigerians to stand together against terrorism and banditry.

“Enough is enough. We must put an end to bloodshed and build a nation where every child can go to school without fear,” the statement concluded.
