A pro-good governance group,Advocacy For Good Governance, has commended Delta State governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for what it described as his administration’s achievements in infrastructure, economic transformation and people-centred governance, urging him to sustain the momentum of development across the state.

The group, in a statement issued on Friday and signed by its convener, Chris Mustapha Nwaokobia Jnr, said the governor had demonstrated that effective leadership is measured by concrete achievements rather than political rhetoric, adding that his administration had continued to earn the confidence of Deltans through purposeful governance.

According to the statement, the implementation of the MORE Agenda has evolved into a practical development blueprint, delivering results across infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, youth empowerment and economic growth.

The group said road construction and rehabilitation projects spread across Delta State’s three senatorial districts had improved transportation, boosted commercial activities and reconnected communities, describing the projects as evidence of an administration committed to inclusive development.

It also commended the Oborevwori administration’s investments in healthcare, noting that improvements to hospitals, upgrades of primary healthcare centres and expanded access to quality medical services had strengthened healthcare delivery across the state.

On education, the group said the governor had demonstrated a strong commitment to human capital development through investments in school infrastructure, bursary awards, scholarship programmes, student loans, skills acquisition initiatives and increased funding for state-owned tertiary institutions.

“The governor’s commitment to education reflects his understanding that the greatest investment any government can make is in its people. His administration is laying a solid foundation for future generations of Deltans,” the statement said.

The group further praised the administration’s economic empowerment programmes targeted at youths, women, entrepreneurs, artisans and small business owners, describing them as strategic initiatives that were expanding economic opportunities, creating wealth and strengthening the state’s economy.

It also highlighted the government’s focus on youth development through vocational training, entrepreneurship support and skills acquisition programmes, saying young people had been positioned as key partners in Delta State’s development.

According to the group, women had equally benefited from inclusive policies promoting economic participation, leadership opportunities and social welfare, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to equitable development.

Describing Governor Oborevwori as a focused, prudent and results-oriented leader, the group said his administration had deliberately prioritised governance over politics, allowing completed projects and improved public services to define its record.

“Governor Oborevwori has demonstrated that the most powerful political statement is performance. Across Delta State, roads are being built, schools are being improved, hospitals are receiving attention, businesses are being supported and lives are being positively impacted. These are enduring achievements that cannot be ignored,” the statement added.

The group also commended the governor’s support for security through sustained backing for the Delta State Security Trust Fund and security agencies, saying the collaboration had strengthened public safety and boosted investor confidence.

It further praised what it described as prudent management of public resources, saying the administration had continued to execute impactful development projects while maintaining fiscal discipline and prioritising the welfare of the people.

The statement also highlighted government interventions in agriculture, rural development and environmental sustainability, describing them as important steps towards economic diversification, food security and long-term prosperity.

The group urged Governor Oborevwori to sustain the current pace of development, expressing confidence that his commitment to good governance, accountability and effective service delivery would continue to accelerate Delta State’s growth.

It maintained that the governor’s legacy was already taking shape through landmark infrastructure, responsive governance and policies aimed at improving the lives of residents.

“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has shown that transformational leadership is built on vision, discipline and performance.

“His administration is writing a new chapter in the history of Delta State, and if the present trajectory is sustained, his legacy will stand as one of the most remarkable in the state’s democratic journey.

“The greatest answer to critics is visible development, and Governor Oborevwori continues to provide that answer every day through purposeful governance,” the statement added.
