A joint military team of “Operation of Fansan Yamma” and Anti-banditry activities in Kebbi State has stopped the collection of huge ransom by bandits from the victim’s family and thereafter rescued one female victim from their enclave.
This was disclosed to journalists yesterday by Col. Olaniyi Osoba the acting spokesman of the troops.
Col. Osoba said when the troops received an intelligence information about a woman who was abducted from her farm 30 days ago, they mobilised and pursued the bandits to their hideouts and stopped the intended exchange of ransom between them and the family of victim at their camp.
“The woman was however rescued and reunited with her family in Danko/Wasagu local government area of Kebbi State,” Osoba said.
He explained that the troops also conducted clearance operations in Ngaski local government area and some parts of Danko/Wasagu local government area to ensure the people were not under any attack by terrorists.
