The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Agege Federal Constituency, Hon. Seyi Kazeem Sarumi, has officially commenced his campaign ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election.

The campaign launch, held over the weekend, drew supporters from different parts of the constituency, with chants of “Imole” (Light) and “Seyi mukezo, o ti wole” (Seyi is the one we know, he is already victorious) dominating the event.

The occasion also featured the presentation of the ADC flag to Sarumi by senior party officials, formally marking the start of his campaign for the Agege federal constituency.

Speaking at the event, Sarumi said his decision to contest was driven by what he described as widespread dissatisfaction with the quality of representation in the constituency.

“I have the backing of the majority of Agege constituents who are tired of years of lame, self-serving representation,” Sarumi said.

He said his campaign was built around what he termed a “rescue mission”, promising to pursue what he described as people-oriented representation if elected.

“They have chosen me to lead this rescue mission, to put an end to politics of self-satisfaction, and to finally deliver a focused, people-oriented leadership. Agege will be great again,” he said.

Sarumi also urged his opponents to maintain peaceful conduct throughout the electioneering period, describing them as brothers despite the political contest.

“We are not against anyone. Those contesting on the other side are our brothers. We are only privileged to have been chosen by the masses to lead the rescue agenda and declare that enough is enough,” he said.

He, however, expressed confidence that his campaign would prevail at the polls.
