American rock band Kings of Leon will headline Sydney Summertime on February 28, 2027, with Australian group Ocean Alley joining them as special guests at the inaugural outdoor concert series.
The event will take place at Centennial Park in Sydney, with Kings of Leon becoming the second headlining act announced for the series. The Strokes will launch the concert programme on February 20, alongside Beck, Courtney Barnett and Promiseland.
The announcement comes as Kings of Leon prepare to release their 10th studio album, O My Beloved, on November 6 through Love Tap Records and Virgin Music Group. The record marks the first time the band has produced an entire album themselves since their 2024 release, Can We Please Have Fun. Its lead single, “My Whole World”, is already available.
Frontman Caleb Followill said the new album reflects on the band’s journey and the experiences that brought them to their current position.
The Sydney concert will be open to all ages, with free entry for children aged 12 and under. Organisers have also outlined ticket options ranging from general admission to premium viewing areas, hospitality spaces and private suites. Each ticket includes a return public transport pass.
A presale is scheduled to open on October 22 at noon local time, while general ticket sales begin on October 27 at 1 p.m. Fans who pre-order O My Beloved by October 21 will qualify for presale access.
More Australian and international acts are expected to be announced in the coming months.
Kings of Leon have enjoyed considerable commercial success in the United States. Their hit “Use Somebody” reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2009, while Walls debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 2016, becoming the band’s first album to top the chart.
