Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir Lawal has expressed optimism that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, will usher in a new Nigeria.
Speaking during his welcome address at the National Endorsement Prayer day for Obi – Datti,organized by the Coalition of Peter Obi Supporters yesterday in Abuja,Lawal who was represented by Prof Wesley Daniel Nafarnda said “We are all gathered here today because we all desire a change for our beloved country,we want a new Nigeria,we want to take back our country,and make it great,and we all believe that the team that can do this for us,is the team of Peter Obi and Datti Baba Ahmed.”
He noted that the 2023 general elections is remarkable in many aspects, because it is the first time Nigerians youths and Nigerians from all walks of life irrespective of religious and tribal sentiments have come out in large numbers to mobilize and support the Obi-Datti ticket.
Speaking further Lawal said, “Let us put the right man (Peter Obi),as our president,so that Nigeria can be a great nation and take it’s place in the committee of great nations.”
The Former SGF added that Obi’s antecedents in Anambra state and other spheres of life show that he has the qualities of the kind of leader Nigeria deserves now.
At the event Chairperson National Endorsement Prayer Day, Prof Patricia Obiefule,said “we have all gathered here to once again reiterate our support for our presidential candidate Peter Obi and his running mate Datti-Baba Ahmed.The unique thing about this event is that Christian and Muslim clerics have come together to prayerfully endorse him,and pray for his success at the polls on Saturday.”
She added that Labour Presidential candidate has the capacity and experience,to bring about a brighter and better Nigeria.
On his part the National Director Enyimba Progressive Association (EPA), Mazi Nice Chijioke said “Beyond the endorsement,we can all see that Nigeria needs help from the various issues that have bedeviled the nation and all hands need to be on deck to rescue Nigeria.We are doing our part to ensure that we chart a new course for our nation.”
