Police operatives in Bauchi recently arrested three Sara-Suka suspects namely Ibrahim Musa, Buhari Ahmad and Abba Usman for amputating the right hand of victim Sadiq Bala.
The command said it received a complaint from 22-year-old Sadiq Bala, a victim resident in Sara-suka who was later invited for an identification parade and he vividly identified three 18-year-old men; Ibrahim Musa, Buhari Ahmad and Abba Usman to be amongst the thugs that amputated his right hand.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil said in a statement in Bauchi yesterday that the suspects confessed to have partaken in the activities of thugs and thuggery (sara-suka) towards terrorising the innocent citizens of Bauchi metropolis and beyond.
According to the PPRO, the suspects have confessed to the allegation against them and were remorseful for their actions.
In another development, the command acted on credible intelligence and arrested 20-year-old Ishaka Aliyu (Gang Leader) of Gwangwan ward Bauchi.
“Investigation reveals that the suspect mobilized his gang members of Sara-suka to attack one Bello Umar ‘m’ aged 20yrs of Tuji area Bauchi, stabbed him with a sharp knife in his abdomen as a result he sustained serious internal injury”.
Superintendent of Police, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil explained that the victim was rushed to the ATBU Teaching Hospital Bauchi for medical attention.
He said that the accomplices of Ishaka Aliyu namely Lukman Hussaini (19yrs) of Gwabba Qrtrs, Ashiru Suleiman (25yrs) of Emir’s drive; Yusuf Abdullahi (20yrs) of Zango qrts; Abdulrazak Hassan (19yrs) of Zango; Musa Isa (18yrs) of Zango were arrested while efforts are being intensified to continuously sustain the raids and arrest other accomplices.
The Bauchi State Command reiterated that there is no hiding place for criminals and it shall continue to track them, arrest and prosecute them in accordance with the full dictates of the law.
The Command assured the general public of it’s continued efforts to watertight security in the state and the serenity of the upcoming Eid-El-Fitir Sallah celebration in Bauchi and its environs.
According to the statement, CP Aminu Alhassan also assured the general public of his command’s duty towards maintaining law and order, providing adequate security of lives and property, preventing and detecting crimes, as well as enforcing the laws to preserve civil order.
