Rising comedian and multi-artiste, Victor Ekele Ugbede, popularly known as, MC Kommissioner , said the second edition of his show Abuja Comedy Night will focus on youth empowerment.
The event which first debuted in January 28, with the tagline ‘Couples Night’ sought to abate the high rate of divorce and breakups in the country. This second edition tagged ‘Entertainment Empowerment Show’ will empower young entertainers to follow their dreams while running their own businesses.
“My dream is to empower especially young entertainers who direly needs help to realize their potentials and dreams to cater for their families and dependents. I have great compassion for our talented youths who are wasting away without support to achieve their dreams. This is why crime rate is increasing daily in Abuja and other parts of the country.
“I plan and pray that in this new show, at least five talents will be well-empowered with solid resources to start a good business alongside their entertainment vocation, to earn a decent living. I appeal to corporate bodies and good Nigerians to support this initiative which will impact security of our security.”
Scheduled to hold soon in Abuja, Abuja Comedy Night will feature a mix of upcoming comedians and musicians including: MC Abuja Must Laugh MC King Two, and Wahala of Abuja; Da Preacher and Mecoyo (Lagos); MC Bold and MC Bams (Kaduna); King James (Benin), MC Universe (Kogi) among others.
Born in Kogi, the first child in a family of eight, MC Kommissioner began his comedy profession in his village, Iga Ocheba, Kogi State. His comedic skills got him the limelight whilst in Kogi State Polytechnic in the late 2000s, before hitting state limelight performing and anchoring events in both Kogi and Kaduna states.
The graduate of accountancy is married with children.
