Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, has expressed gratitude to the judiciary for its integrity in reaffirming the election of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, as declared by the Supreme Court today.

Responding to the judgement in Yola, the state capital, on Wednesday, Farauta called on the people of the state to collaborate with the government in driving development at all levels.

She also thanked the state’s citizens for maintaining peace throughout the legal process, from the lower courts to the Supreme Court.

According to her, the government can now focus on developing the state without distractions.

“We thank those who prayed secretly, openly, and individually for today’s verdict. We call on everyone, as long as you have the interest of Adamawa at heart, to join hands and move the state forward,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court’s judgement was met with widespread celebration across Yola. A large crowd, carrying the flag of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was seen celebrating the Supreme Court’s judgement on the major streets of the state capital.

Areas such as the popular Bank Road and Dougirei Road, leading to the Government House gate, were brought to a standstill due to the heavy crowd celebrating the victory.
