The Adamawa State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has elected new state executives, with Barrister Sadiq Ibrahim Dasin emerging as chairman in Adamawa state.
The congress was conducted despite an interim court order reportedly halting the party’s congresses.
According to the results released after the exercise, Muhammad Arabi Mustapha was elected as State Organizing Secretary, while Muhammad Umar UJ Jada emerged as State Youth Leader.
Others elected include Hyellagiziya Fakuta Naiwa as Treasurer; Mohammed Alhaji Adamu as Assistant Financial Secretary; and Teneke Atimo Medan as State Assistant Youth Leader (South).
Anas Muhammad, also known as Yawudima, was elected Deputy Youth Leader, while Hon. Rahab Nyayeba Audi emerged as Woman Leader for the state.
Sani Hassan was named Deputy Chief Whip, and Zainab Abubakar emerged as Deputy Women Leader.
Party sources indicated that additional names of elected officials would be announced later.
The development comes in defiance of an interim court order said to have restrained the party from conducting its congresses, raising concerns over possible legal and political implications in the state.
