In a commendable and rare display of honesty, an employee of the Nigeria Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO), Auwal Ahmed Dankode found $10,000 inside an aircraft while performing his routine cleaning duties and immediately reported the discovery to the airline management.

Dankode, a native of Kode village in Bunkure in Kano State, came across the cash, equivalent to approximately N16 million while cleaning an EgyptAir aircraft at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.

The plane had landed around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday when Dankode made the unexpected find.

Without delay, Dankode reported the discovery to the airline company’s manager.

A few minutes later, an Arab man rushed back to the aircraft, searching frantically for the missing money. After a series of questions to verify his claim, the manager confirmed that the money belonged to him, matching the seat where the envelope containing the cash was found.

The man, was relieved and overjoyed upon the return of his money. In a heartfelt display of gratitude, he hugged Dankode multiple times, thanking him for his honesty.
