Ankara Chamber Partners Nigeria On N740bn Medical Tourism, Business Opportunities

Ankara Chamber of Commerce, Turkey is partnering Nigeria in a bid to improve healthcare service delivery in the country as well as take advantage of the about N704 billion ($1bn) Nigerians spend annually on medical tourism, LEADERSHIP learnt.

Using N740 to a dollar, the Nigerians spend an average of N740billion annually on medical tourism.

This is even as the chamber is also seeking partnership with government, private firms, Non-Governmental Organisations(NGOs), among other groups, to offer its expertise in healthcare and other business opportunities.

Turkey is fast becoming the most popular destination for Medical Tourism with its top grade facilities and World Class Care System and Ankara in Turkey is central to this. Similarly, Turquaz Health, a health tourism organisation is playing an active role in enriching the healthcare service delivery in the country and across the world through its expertise.

To this end, Ankara Chamber recently partnered Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) with the prospects of creating over one million jobs in the healthcare and infrastructure delivery system.

Similarly, Turquaz Health Tourism and the Ankara Chamber of Commerce, among other firms from Turkiye are sponsors of the just concluded 19th Akwaaba Travel Market held in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Speaking on behalf of the chamber in an exclusive interview with LEADERSHIP, on the sideline of the 19th Akwaaba Expo, the founding partner/CEO, Turquaz Health, Sureyya Umran Alinak, said, Nigeria has a lot of potential market for Turkey, especially, in the area of medical tourism, as hospitals and healthcare facilities in her country are top notch and services are seamless as they are technologically driven to offer optimum service delivery at affordable rates.

Disclosing that Turquaz Health is interested in bridging the gap in healthcare services between the Nigeria and Turkey, she said, her firm offers a wide range of healthcare solutions.

Turquaz Health, she said, is a health organisation in Turkey, which provides the best medical solution to medical needs with the best quality facilities, cutting edge technology equipment, globally accepted medical doctors and internationally recognised credentials.

Similarly, the vice chief executive officer(CEO) of Turquaz Health, Mr Naci Tamer said, the Ankara Chamber of Commerce, is interested in promoting health tourism, as well as collaborate to provide expertise in healthcare capacity and consulting services.

Cooperation between the chamber and Nigerian entities, he said, can significantly enhance economic ties between countries by creating a conducive environment for business to explore opportunities and engage in mutually beneficial ventures.

Aside healthcare, he stressed that, energy and infrastructure, ICT and innovation, cultural exchange, SME development and sustainable development are areas the two countries can explore, urging government at federal and state levels as well groups and individual entities to partner Ankara Chamber of Commerce for maximum output.

Turquaz Health Tourism who is the lead sponsor of the Akwaba event led other Turkish firms, such as; Turkish Airlines and Medical Park, Turkish Pavillon, Guven, Bathel Dental and the Ankara Chamber of Commerce, among others, at the just concluded 19th Akwaaba Travel Market for 2nd Medical Tourism Expo in Lagos.

Ankara Chamber of Commerce is a non-governmental organization that is a catalyzer about providing growth, development and transformation of our chamber depending on the interaction of commerce, knowledge and business ethics in Turkish Economy.
