In a show of compassion and service-driven leadership, the deputy national women leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hajiya Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim, has hosted a free medical outreach for staff at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja to mark her birthday.
The health outreach, held yesterday, focused on preventive screenings—specifically Blood Pressure (BP) and Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS), to aid early detection of hypertension and diabetes.
Attendees received on-site tests, one-on-one medical consultations, and tailored health advice from a team of medical professionals.
Hajiya Zainab, who also serves as chairperson of the Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe, said the initiative was her modest contribution to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises accessible and preventive healthcare.
“This outreach is my humble contribution to that vision. Our President’s Renewed Hope Agenda reminds us that a healthy nation begins with healthy citizens. This is a responsibility we all share, and I am happy to play my part,” she said.
She further emphasised the need for proactive healthcare leadership, especially among public servants and party members.
“As the chairperson of the Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe, and as a servant of this great party, I feel doubly responsible to lead by example. We must cultivate a culture where health is prioritised and access is widened—especially among our staff and grassroots supporters,” she added.
The APC National Secretariat staff lauded the gesture, describing it as thoughtful, timely, and inspiring.
Many praised Hajiya Zainab for choosing to celebrate her birthday through an act of service that reflects her dual commitment to healthcare and political leadership.
The outreach reinforces the APC’s commitment to citizen well-being and highlights the vital role women leaders are playing in supporting national health goals at both policy and grassroots levels.
