The commander of the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) of the Nigerian Army, Major General Kevin Aligbe, stated this while declaring open a three-day Nigerian Army Research and Development Conference 2024, held in Minna, the Niger State capital.

Represented by the director of Joint and Combined Doctrine, Nigerian Army, Major General Jafaru Mohammed, Major General Aligbe emphasised that Nigeria is endowed with both material and intellectual resources, adding that the task at hand is to harness and galvanise these resources to achieve the country’s developmental goals.

He noted that research and development are the bedrock of industrialisation in many countries globally, and the Nigerian Army is determined not to be left behind.

According to him, participants at the conference were drawn from the Nigerian Air Force, other security agencies, and paramilitary organisations within Niger State to facilitate meaningful cross-fertilisation of ideas aimed at achieving the goal of technological development.
