Jose Mourinho is not your usual coach and one of his former players, Mario Balotelli, has explained a side to the current AS Roma boss that not many acknowledge.
‘The Special One’ has come under criticism for his pragmatic style of play, famously referred to as ‘parking the bus’, but Balotelli defended his former boss during an interview on TV Play via Calcio Mercato.
“Mourinho has never been a coach with a great game. He is more charismatic, he gives you grit and competitive malice.
He has his ideas about the game, but he doesn’t go too much into tactics.”
The Italian ‘bad boy’ went on to explain his relationship with the former Chelsea boss during their time together at Inter.
“Mou has a good character, he’s special. He made me laugh out loud. There were also clashes, but he motivated you. He brought out the best and the worst in you. That Inter I played for was a squad of 25 phenomena,” he added.
